14 JAMB Candidates Kidnapped in Benue State Attack

On Wednesday evening, between 7:00 PM and 8:00 PM, fourteen candidates traveling to take their Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) exams were kidnapped in Benue State. The victims, primarily young men and women, were ambushed by armed men while traveling commercially from Makurdi to Otukpo.

The attack caused panic among families, and while 16 passengers were reportedly ambushed, some managed to escape. Maxwel Ogiri, the chairman of the Otukpo local government area, confirmed the incident and stated that the victims were students heading to their exams.

When contacted, Ifeanyi Enemari, the Benue State Commissioner of Police, confirmed the development and disclosed that a rescue operation was underway. He raised concerns about the timing of the attack and assured that security operations would be intensified to ensure the safe return of the abducted passengers.
