Troops Rescue 150 Travelers in Borno from Terrorists

On a recent operation in Borno, troops from OPHK, led by Lt. Col.

Sani Uba, successfully rescued an estimated 150 travelers who were targeted in a mass kidnapping attempt. The incident occurred as the troops were escorting civilians along the Buratai-Kamuya axis.

Following an attempt by terrorists to abduct a large number of civilians using 17 vehicles, the troops engaged the insurgents decisively. Their quick reaction force rapidly reinforced the location, repelling the attack and launching a pursuit towards the Mangari area.

During the pursuit, the troops encountered improvised explosive devices, resulting in severe injuries to five personnel, who were promptly evacuated for specialist medical care. Lt.

Col. Uba confirmed that the operation effectively thwarted the mass kidnapping attempt and ensured the safe recovery of the civilians, who were subsequently moved to Buratai for reuniting with their families.
