Kwara State Grassroots Football Tournament Promotes Peace and Youth Engagement

Sixteen grassroots football teams from Edu, Patigi, Moro, Ifelodun, Baruteen, and Kaiama local government areas in Kwara State will participate in the Inter Local Government Area Peace Unity Football Tournament (AIPUFT) 2026. The tournament, sponsored by Aliyu Issa Aiedu, aims to foster peace and youth development through sports, promoting peaceful coexistence and community interaction.

The competition features a cash prize of N500,000 for the overall winner, N400,000 for the first runner-up, and N300,000 for the second runner-up. Individual awards such as the Golden Boot, Golden Glove, and Man of the Match will also be presented.

The tournament serves as a scouting platform to identify talented players and provide exposure for further football development. The final grassroots tournament is scheduled to be held on February 14.
