18 Senior Officers Retire from Nigerian Army in Ceremony

On Thursday, the Nigerian Army held a formal retirement ceremony for 18 senior officers, including four Major Generals and fourteen Brigadier Generals, in Benin, Edo State. This event marked the conclusion of their 35 years of dedicated service.

The ceremony, themed "Optimism in Supply Transport Capability Toward Providing Effective Service Delivery in Nigerian Army Operations," included a color pull parade. Maj Gen Danjuma Shagaya, the Corps Commander of the Nigerian Army Corps of Supply and Transport, highlighted the critical role of the Corps in sustaining military operations through logistics support during training and peace support missions, both domestically and internationally.

Maj Gen Olaniyi Dare, speaking on behalf of the retirees, acknowledged the support of their families throughout their military careers. The Chief of Army Staff recognized the sacrifices made by the retiring officers, emphasizing their contributions to national defense.
