Edo State Launches Probe Into Killing of Borehole Drillers in Obayanto Community

Two borehole drillers were killed in Obayanto community, Edo State, with one victim still unidentified. The Edo State government has launched an investigation into the gruesome murders, led by the Edo State Special Security Squad.

The operation, codenamed Operation Flush Cultists Kidnappers, is in collaboration with security agencies. Community leaders and government officials, including the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, visited the community to assess the situation.

The government condemned the act of violence and reiterated its commitment to eradicating cultism and kidnapping in the state. The killings are believed to be linked to a leadership tussle between two rival factions in the community.
