Outcry Over Edo Govt's Silence on NSCDC Killings and Abductions

Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) have criticized the Edo State government for its silence 24 hours after the killing of eight Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) personnel and the abduction of several others. The incidents occurred in Owan West and Etsako East Local Government Areas, with a Chinese expatriate also abducted.

The state government has yet to issue an official statement, prompting concerns from the public and CSOs. This silence follows previous incidents in the state, including an attack by suspected Ijaw militia that resulted in casualties.

The lack of immediate response from the government has raised questions about its handling of security challenges and communication with the public.
