2 Killed in Yobe communal clash

Two individuals were killed in a communal clash in Yobe on Saturday, with the attack believed to be linked to a dispute in the Azare axis. The assailant, armed with arrows and a machete, targeted the victims while they were working on a farm.

The Chairman of Gulani LGA, Hon Daiyabu Ilu Njibulwa, expressed frustration over the incident, stating that repeated complaints to the police had not yielded results. The police assured that the perpetrator would be apprehended.

Emir Fika and other local leaders emphasized the need for peaceful coexistence between farmers and herders, highlighting the importance of interdependence in boosting food and livestock production. They also addressed issues such as drug abuse among youth and the need for justice at the grassroots level.

Emir Bade announced a ban on night grazing and the use of children to herd cattle, promoting a more orderly approach to seasonal migration.
