20 Farmers, Including Pregnant Women, Abducted in Niger Amid Rising Kidnapping Incidents

In Niger State, 20 farmers, including pregnant women, were abducted from a rice farm just days after the kidnapping of 200 students and staff from St. Mary's School in Papiri, Agwara LGA.

The police spokesperson, Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the latest abduction, while Governor Umaru Bago assured the public that the missing students had not necessarily been abducted but might have fled to nearby forests. Security operations are ongoing, with children already rescued.

The incidents have raised concerns and tensions in the area.
