Bauchi Police Arrest 20-Year-Old for Defilement and Robbery

The Bauchi State Police Command arrested 20-year-old Isiyaku Usman for allegedly defiling a seven-year-old girl and stealing two Android phones from her in Darazo Local Government Area. The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Nafiu Habib, reported that the incident occurred on September 6, 2026, after the victim's father, a 37-year-old resident of Kari village, filed a complaint.

The victim was reportedly lured into an uncompleted building by Usman, who robbed her of her Techno A31 phones before sexually assaulting her. Following the complaint, police detectives initiated an investigation and arrested Usman, who was found in possession of the stolen phones.

Both the victim and the suspect were taken to Darazo General Hospital for medical examinations, and statements were recorded. Usman allegedly confessed to the crimes and remained in police custody.

Commissioner of Police Sani-Omolori Aliyu condemned the incident and ordered the case to be transferred to the Gender Laboratory of the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation, assuring that justice would be served.
