Man Arrested for Allegedly Defiling 14-Year-Old in Edo

A man was arrested for allegedly defiling a 14-year-old girl in the Afokoella axis of Okpella community, located in the Etsako East Local Government Area of Edo State. The State Commissioner of Police, Patrick Daaor, reported that the Okpella Police Division received a complaint regarding the incident.

Preliminary investigations indicated that the suspect took the minor on a motorcycle to an uncompleted building, where he allegedly engaged in unlawful sexual intercourse with her. Following the act, the suspect reportedly gave the victim ₦2,000 to ensure she would not disclose the incident to anyone.

The victim was subsequently taken to the hospital for medical evaluation and care. The suspect has been arrested and is currently in custody, with ongoing investigations being conducted.

Daaor confirmed that the suspect would be arraigned in court.
