Oyo Police Arrest 17-Year-Old for Defiling Minor

The Oyo State Police Command arrested a 17-year-old male, Usman Dauda, for allegedly defiling a three-year-old girl in Saki. The arrest followed a distress report lodged at the Saki Divisional Station on September 17, 2026, around 6 pm, after the child went missing while being retrieved from school.

A local search led to her recovery along the roadside in a state of distress, where preliminary inquiries indicated that Dauda had forcefully taken her into his apartment to commit the act. Detectives secured the crime scene, resulting in Dauda's immediate arrest and the recovery of critical physical evidence.

The young survivor was taken to a medical facility in Saki for treatment and care. The Oyo State Police reiterated its zero-tolerance policy against child abuse and sexual violence, ensuring the privacy and dignity of the survivor and her family are protected.

The case has been transferred to the Gender Desk at the State Criminal Investigation Department in Ibadan for thorough investigation and prosecution.
