Team Nigeria Unveils Ambassadors for 2026 Commonwealth Games

Team Nigeria has officially unveiled its list of ambassadors ahead of the 2026 Commonwealth Games, which will be held in Glasgow, Scotland, from July 23 to August 2, 2026. The announcement was made by the Nigeria Sports Commission (NSC), highlighting the country's commitment to making a strong impact at this global multi-sport event.

The approved list features prominent figures across various sports, including experienced administrators and elite athletes. Key stakeholders involved in this initiative include Mallam Saleh Ahmadu, Dr.

Amo Adamu, Chief Patrick Ekeji, Alhassan Yakmut, and Gbenga Elegbeley, all of whom bring a wealth of experience to the table. Notable ambassadors include Olympic medalists Daniel Igali, Blessing Oborodudu, Tajudeen Ogunbad, Khadijat Sulaiman, and Victor Iroel.

Wale Adeniyi, the Comptroller General of Nigeria Customs, has also been appointed as an ambassador. This strategic approach aims to blend expertise from various sectors to enhance athlete support systems and boost Nigeria's presence in global sports.
