Team Nigeria Names Ambassadors for Glasgow 2026 Games

Team Nigeria has officially unveiled its list of ambassadors for the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, reflecting the country's commitment to making a strong impact at this global multi-sport event. The list, approved by the Nigeria Sports Commission (NSC), includes distinguished figures across sports administration and athletics, showcasing a blend of experience and technical expertise.

Key stakeholders involved in this initiative include Mallam Saleh Ahmadu, Dr. Amo Adamu, Chief Patrick Ekeji, Alhassan Yakmut, and Gbenga Elegbeley, all of whom bring significant experience to the table.

Notable athletes such as Olympic medalist Daniel Igali, Blessing Oborodudu, Tajudeen Ogunbad, Khadijat Sulaiman, and Victor Iroel have also been appointed as ambassadors. Wale Adeniyi, the Comptroller General of Nigeria Customs, is also part of this initiative, emphasizing Nigeria's strategic approach to enhancing athlete support systems.

The Commonwealth Games are scheduled to take place in Glasgow, Scotland, from July 23 to August 2, 2026, and will feature approximately 74 Commonwealth nations across 10 sports, including a full integration of para-sports.
