Ogun Pilgrims Return from 2026 Hajj, Apelogun Praises Efforts

The second batch of Ogun State pilgrims returned from the 2026 Hajj, arriving directly in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, aboard a Flynas Airbus A330. Amirul Hajj Alhaji Princ Shamsideen Adebayo Apelogun described the direct transport arrangement as a historic achievement for Ogun State.

He expressed delight in being among the first pilgrims to utilize the international flight from the state. Apelogun thanked Governor Dapo Abiodun for his unwavering support and commitment to the success of the Hajj exercise, noting the governor's active involvement throughout the pilgrimage stages in Medina and Makkah.

He acknowledged the contributions of various stakeholders, including the Ogun State Muslim Pilgrim Welfare Board, its chairman Sheikh Olohungbeb, and other Islamic clerics and administrative staff. Apelogun commended the exemplary conduct of the pilgrims and highlighted Ogun State's recognition for good behavior during the pilgrimage, urging the pilgrims to maintain patience and discipline.
