Anambra and Ogun States Commit to Women's Empowerment

On the occasion of the 2026 International Women's Day, Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo and Ogun State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development Motunrayo Adeley reaffirmed their commitment to women's empowerment as a driver for development. Soludo congratulated women across Nigeria and emphasized the need to move beyond charity towards strategic investments that provide women with equal opportunities and access to capital.

He highlighted various programs aimed at supporting youth, financial literacy, and micro, small, and medium enterprises, as well as ensuring quality education for girls. Adeley reiterated Ogun State's commitment to investing in women's empowerment, noting that when women thrive, families and communities prosper.

She mentioned the ongoing support from the World Bank for initiatives aimed at enhancing women's financial inclusion and capacity development. Both leaders called for resilience and innovation among women, underscoring the importance of gender equity and the protection of women's rights.
