SEC DG Celebrates Women in Capital Market Development

During the International Women's Day event held on Monday, Dr. Emomotimi Agama, the Director General of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), commended female staff for their significant contributions to capital market development.

He highlighted the resilience and hard work of women, emphasizing their role in national development and the need for mentorship and inclusion in the financial sector. Agama noted that women should not wait for opportunities but should create them, leveraging their intellect and foresight to navigate economic shifts.

Ms. Frana Chukwuogor, an executive commissioner, stressed the importance of avoiding illegal schemes, urging Nigerians, especially women, to report such activities.

Mr. Bola Ajomal acknowledged the multi-tasking abilities of women in the commission, while Mr.

Toyin Alasi discussed the necessity of financial empowerment. Dr.

Chika Anozi encouraged women to prioritize health and regular check-ups. The event was part of broader SEC efforts to promote financial education and empower women towards financial independence and wealth creation.
