Kano State Council Allocates ₦144bn for Infrastructure Projects

The Kano State Executive Council approved projects and programs worth ₦144.005 billion at its 41st meeting held at the Mallam Aminu Kano House, Governor’s Lodge, Asokoro, Abuja. The allocations span key sectors such as roads and infrastructure, education, healthcare, water supply, energy, housing, human capital development, and public services.

The Ministry of Works received the largest share, with ₦84.975 billion designated for various road construction and rehabilitation projects. Notable projects include the reconstruction of the Rawul–Gani–Sitti–Masu–Gomo Road at ₦16.689 billion and the Zaria Road–Gurjiya–Yankatsari–Rijiyar Gwangwan Road at ₦8.654 billion.

In education, ₦14.276 billion was allocated for school renovations and upgrades, including ₦6.118 billion for UBEC matching grants. The health sector received ₦2.608 billion for upgrading healthcare facilities, including the transformation of primary healthcare centers into general hospitals.
