Kano State Implements N996.29bn Infrastructure Projects

At a press briefing in Kano on Sunday, Comrade Nura Ma’aji Sumaila, the Commissioner for Public Procurement, Projects Monitoring and Evaluation, announced that the Kano State government is implementing projects worth N996.29 billion. The administration has recorded 1,557 classified projects, with 867 (55.68%) completed and 654 (42%) ongoing.

Additionally, 26 projects are at the award stage, and 10 more are planned. Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf's administration emphasizes infrastructure renewal, rural development, and transparent governance.

The projects span all 44 local government areas, with 598 projects in metropolitan areas valued at N299.36 billion and 653 projects in rural areas worth N287.90 billion. Key investments include a N113.19 billion mass-housing scheme in Dawakin Kudu and a N24.77 billion expansion of Katsina Road.

Sumaila assured that all funding comes from the state’s consolidated revenue, with no borrowing involved, and reiterated the government's commitment to transparency and accountability in project delivery.
