NECO Reports 58.67% Pass Rate in 2026 SSCE Results

The National Examinations Council (NECO) released the results of the 2026 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) Internal, indicating that 804,948 candidates, or 58.67%, achieved five credits and above, including English Language and Mathematics. The announcement was made by NECO Registrar, Prof. Dantani Wushishi, at a press conference in Minna, Niger State.

A total of 1,378,048 candidates registered for the examination, with 1,371,992 actually sitting for it from June 15 to July 23, 2026. The results were published 63 days after the last exam paper.

Additionally, 1,162,118 candidates, representing 84.70%, obtained five credits irrespective of their performance in English and Mathematics. Wushishi noted a significant reduction in examination malpractice, with only 1,406 candidates involved in 2026, down from 3,878 in 2025, marking a 64.74% decrease.

He expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his reappointment and commended the efforts of security agencies in maintaining examination integrity.
