NECO Releases 2026 SSCE Results; 58.67% Pass Rate Achieved

The National Examinations Council (NECO) officially released the results for the 2026 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) on September 24, 2026. Out of 1,378,048 registered candidates, 1,371,992 participated in the examination.

Of those, 804,948 candidates, representing 58.67%, achieved at least five credits, including English Language and Mathematics. Additionally, 1,126,118 candidates, or 84.70%, obtained five credits and above, regardless of the inclusion of English and Mathematics.

Candidates can access their results online through the authorized platform results.neco.gov.ng by following specific steps, including entering their NECO Result Checking Token and registration number. NECO also reported a significant decline in examination malpractice, with only 1,496 cases recorded in 2026, down from 3,878 in 2025.

Prof Dantani Wushishi, the Registrar of NECO, attributed this decrease to the shift towards computer-based examinations. Furthermore, NECO announced the establishment of a new SSCE centre in the United Kingdom to support Nigerians living abroad.
