Ajibade Critiques NFF Over Super Falcons' WAFCON Prep

Rasheedat Ajibade, the captain of the Super Falcons, expressed her dissatisfaction with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) regarding the team's lackluster preparation for the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON). The tournament will be hosted in Morocco from March to July 2026.

The Super Falcons are scheduled to play two friendly matches against the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon during the last international window for women in February. However, the Central African Republic withdrew from their scheduled friendly matches, leaving the NFF scrambling to find new opponents ahead of the FIFA window.

Ajibade emphasized the importance of serious and intense preparation, especially as the Super Falcons aim to qualify for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup. The team has a record of winning the WAFCON title ten times, and Ajibade's comments reflect concerns about their readiness for the upcoming challenges.
