Flying Eagles Set for WAFU B U-20 Championship Final

The final of the WAFU B U-20 Championship will see Nigeria's Flying Eagles compete against Burkina Faso on Sunday. The Flying Eagles, coached by Abdu Maikaba, secured their place in the final after a tense semi-final match against hosts Côte d’Ivoire, which ended in a 2-2 draw and was decided by penalties, with Nigeria winning 4-2.

Burkina Faso's Young Stallions reached the final by defeating Niger Republic 2-0 in extra time during the second semi-final. This title match will be a rematch of their earlier Group B encounter, where Burkina Faso had previously triumphed over Nigeria with a 2-0 victory.

The winner of the final will qualify for the 2027 Africa U-20 Africa Cup of Nations. Nigeria is aiming for their third consecutive WAFU B U-20 Championship title, having won the previous two editions.
