Flying Eagles Face Burkina Faso in WAFU B Final

The Flying Eagles of Nigeria are set to compete against Burkina Faso's Young Stallions in the final of the WAFU B U20 Championship on Sunday, taking place at the Stade Charles Konan Banny in Yamoussoukro at 7 PM. Nigeria, a seven-time African champion, aims to retain the trophy they won in Lome in October 2024.

This match will also determine the second team from the WAFU B zone to join hosts Ghana in the Africa U20 Cup of Nations finals next year. This is the second encounter between the two teams in the tournament, with Burkina Faso having previously defeated Nigeria 2-0 in the group stage.

Coach Abdu Maikaba expressed confidence in his team's ability to avenge their earlier loss, stating they have analyzed Burkina Faso's strengths and weaknesses. The Flying Eagles previously faced the Young Stallions in 2022, resulting in a 2-2 draw, and in 2024, where Burkina Faso won 1-0.
