Kpakor Disappointed by Super Eagles' World Cup Failure

Mose Kpakor, a former Nigerian international, expressed his deep disappointment regarding the Super Eagles' failure to qualify for the 2026 World Cup, which is set to take place in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. Nigeria's absence marks the second consecutive tournament they have failed to qualify for, following a penalty shootout loss to DR Congo in the African playoff match held in Rabat, Morocco, on November 16, 2025, after a 1-1 draw.

Kpakor criticized the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for their handling of the situation, particularly regarding a protest against the eligibility of a DR Congo player, which was rejected by FIFA due to procedural errors. He noted that the NFF plans to appeal FIFA's decision but emphasized the shame and disappointment felt by Nigerians over the team's failure to qualify.

Kpakor highlighted the need for the NFF to focus on performance on the pitch rather than getting entangled in off-pitch politics.
