US Opens Thousands of Visa Slots for Ghanaians Ahead of 2026 World Cup

The US Embassy in Accra has announced the opening of thousands of additional non-immigrant visa appointment slots for Ghanaians planning to attend the 2026 FIFA World Cup. This move aims to ease travel to the US for the global sporting event.

The slots are available immediately, and applicants are encouraged to apply early. The announcement comes amidst the surge in demand for US visas due to the upcoming World Cup.

The US Department of State had recently paused immigrant visa issuance for 75 countries, including Ghana and Nigeria, but non-immigrant visa processing for tourism and temporary visits continues as normal.
