APP Gains Momentum with Lawmaker Defections for 2027

Ahead of the 2027 general elections, the Action Peoples Party (APP) has strengthened its position with the defection of two serving members of the House of Representatives and a former federal lawmaker. The lawmakers who have joined APP are Rt.

Hon. Boma Goodhead, representing Akuku-Toru/Asari-Toru Federal Constituency of Rivers State; Hon. Alozie Munachim Ikechi, representing Obingwa/Ugwunagbo/Osisioma Federal Constituency of Abia State; and Rt. Hon. Uju Kingsley Chima, a former member who represented Oguta/Ohaji-Egbema/Oru West Federal Constituency of Imo State.

Goodhead and Ikechi will contest the elections on the APP platform for their respective constituencies, while Chima has also emerged as the party’s candidate for his former constituency. This development is significant for the APP as it seeks to expand its political influence and attract seasoned political leaders in preparation for the upcoming elections, aiming to establish itself as a strong alternative in the political landscape of the South-East and South-South regions.
