Kwara Lawmakers Resign from APC Amid Internal Issues

Hon. Saba Yisa Gideon, representing Edu State Constituency, and Hon. Olushola Odetundun, representing Irepodun Local Government Area, have both resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC). They submitted their resignation letters on the same day, expressing concerns about the party's internal operations.

Gideon stated that his decision was made after careful reflection and consultations with constituents, highlighting issues of internal democracy, fairness, and inclusiveness as reasons for his departure. He thanked the APC for the support he received during his membership.

Odetundun addressed his resignation letter to the APC Ward Chairman of Ajasse Ward II, indicating that his decision followed consultations with political stakeholders and constituents. He emphasized the importance of principles, accountability, and public welfare in his service.

Both lawmakers did not disclose their future political affiliations. Their resignations occurred one day after Senator Salihu Mustapha was presented as the PDP candidate for the 2027 election after leaving the APC.
