Oyo APC Aspirants Reject Candidate Imposition for 2027

On Wednesday, six aspirants from the Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) publicly rejected any imposition of a candidate for the 2027 governorship election. The aspirants, including Rauf Olaniyan, Akeem Agbaj, Oyedel Hakeem, Alao Musibau, Asatoka Asanik, and Dr.

Ololade Usman Bakar, issued a communiqué after a meeting in Ibadan. They demanded that due process be followed in selecting the party's governorship candidate for the upcoming general elections.

The aspirants expressed their readiness to resist any attempts to impose a candidate, stating that such actions would betray democracy. They reaffirmed their loyalty to the APC, emphasizing that they would support whoever emerges as the party's flag bearer for the 2027 governorship election, provided the selection process is transparent and democratic.
