Okonkwo: Voting for Obi Supports Tinubu in 2027 Election

Kenneth Okonkwo, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), expressed that a vote for Peter Obi in the 2027 presidential election is effectively a vote for Bola Tinubu, the current president. In an interview with Symphony TV, Okonkwo argued that the opposition must present a united front to enhance their chances against Tinubu, who leads the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He criticized Obi's decision to withdraw from coalition talks, claiming it would weaken the opposition's position. Okonkwo also mentioned that Senator Victor Umeh suggested that Obi should accept a vice-presidential slot, which Obi reportedly refused.

He warned that votes cast outside a broad opposition coalition would diminish the chances of defeating the APC in the upcoming elections. Okonkwo's statements reflect a strategic perspective on the political landscape leading up to the 2027 elections, emphasizing the importance of unity among opposition parties.
