Kenneth Okonkwo Declares Peter Obi Out of 2027 Race

Kenneth Okonkwo, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), declared that Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State and a previous presidential candidate from the Labour Party, is no longer a serious contender for the 2027 presidential elections. Okonkwo made this statement during an interview on Channels Television on Thursday, shortly after his appointment as the spokesperson for Atiku Abubakar, the ADC's presidential candidate for the upcoming general elections.

He emphasized that Obi's focus should be on candidates he believes can genuinely win the election, rather than discussing his own political aspirations. Okonkwo criticized Obi, suggesting that he is inconsequential and that he prefers to address more significant issues rather than individuals he perceives as already defeated.

His comments come amid increasing political exchanges within opposition parties, particularly given the previous political alliance between Obi and other politicians during the 2023 general elections.
