Okonkwo: Voting for Obi Aids Tinubu's 2027 Bid

Kenneth Okonkwo, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), claimed in an interview that any vote cast for Peter Obi in the 2027 presidential election would effectively be a vote for Bola Tinubu, the incumbent president from the All Progressives Congress (APC). Okonkwo, who previously served as the spokesperson for the Labour Party's presidential campaign council, argued that a fragmented opposition would diminish their ability to challenge Tinubu's re-election bid.

He criticized Obi's decision to withdraw from the opposition coalition and suggested that this move would weaken the opposition's overall strength. Okonkwo emphasized the importance of unity among opposition candidates, citing Enugu State as an example where divided votes among multiple candidates could favor the incumbent.

He warned that such a scenario would significantly reduce the chances of the opposition securing victory in the upcoming election.
