ADC Politicians Defect to APC, Support Tinubu's Re-election

On September 29, a group of politicians from the African Democratic Congress (ADC), led by Dr Princess Aslam Aliyu Gambiyar from Zamfara state, officially joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) and expressed their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's re-election. During a courtesy visit to the APC National Secretariat in Abuja, Gambiyar stated that the defectors were convinced that Tinubu could elevate Nigeria under his Renewed Hope Agenda.

APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda welcomed the new members, commending their decision to prioritize national interests over personal political ambitions. He encouraged them to engage actively with their wards.

Yilwatda also addressed claims from opposition politicians regarding the government's commitment to Northern Nigeria, citing ongoing infrastructure projects such as the Abuja–Kano–Maiduguri corridor and others. He argued against reversing economic reforms, warning that such actions could hinder development initiatives and fiscal stability, particularly in the North.
