ADC's Peter Adejoh Seeks Benue Governorship in 2027

Peter Adejoh, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has formally purchased his nomination forms to contest the Benue State governorship election scheduled for 2027. He obtained the forms at the party's national secretariat in Abuja, signaling his entry into what is expected to be a competitive race among ADC aspirants.

Adejoh expressed his belief that Benue deserves better leadership, emphasizing the need for accelerated development in the state, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary. He criticized the current administration under Governor Hyacinth Alia, who is expected to seek a second term under the ruling Progressives Congress.

Adejoh pledged to focus on economic self-reliance through investments in agriculture and mining, improve local government autonomy, enhance security, and ensure timely payment of workers' salaries. He also called for the independence of the National Electoral Commission ahead of the elections and warned against any attempts to turn Nigeria into a one-party state.
