ADC Strengthens Internal Democracy Ahead of 2027 Elections

On Tuesday, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) reaffirmed its commitment to internal democracy and accountability by receiving a constitution review report at its national secretariat in Abuja. The party's national chairman, David Mark, emphasized that the review reflects the party's resolve to align its structure with current political realities and position itself as a credible alternative.

The party's legal adviser, Prof. Oserihenmen Osunbor, described the constitution as a guiding document that embodies the collective aspirations of its members.

The review process was characterized as painstaking and required wisdom and foresight, with a commendation for the committee's diligence. The report includes proposed amendments such as affirmative action provisions for 30% representation of women and 20% for youth, aiming to ensure inclusivity.

The committee, led by Etigw Uwa, also introduced a structural framework to address internal disputes and reduce litigation challenges, aiming to strengthen the ADC's governance and future growth.
