ADC Plans Next Steps After National Convention Completion

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has announced its next steps following the conclusion of its national convention, which was held amidst claims of attempts to stop the exercise. The convention was led by David Mark, who is a member of the national working committee, alongside Rauf Aregbesola, the deputy national chairman for the North East, and Babachir Lawal, the national public secretary.

Kola Ologbondiyan, the chairman of the media sub-committee, stated that the party will notify the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to begin preparations for its primaries. The ADC is focused on fulfilling its participation in the 2027 general elections, regardless of whether INEC monitors the convention.

Sources within the party indicated that the major hurdle ahead will be the selection of the presidential candidate.
