ADC Critiques Tinubu, Promises Economic Rescue for Nigeria

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has responded to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's comments regarding the opposition, stating that they will be the ones to rescue Nigeria from its current economic hardships. In a statement issued on Monday, ADC spokesperson Bolaji Abdullahi described Tinubu's remarks as ironic given the prevailing economic insecurity in the country.

The ADC accused Tinubu's administration of exacerbating issues such as rising inflation, worsening poverty, and food insecurity, which has left nearly 35 million Nigerians facing acute food insecurity by 2026. The party emphasized that the opposition should not be blamed for the current economic challenges, including inflation and insecurity, asserting that these issues were not created by them.

Furthermore, the ADC questioned the credibility of the reported 10.99 million votes secured by Tinubu in the APC presidential primaries, warning against undermining the integrity of future elections as Nigeria approaches the 2027 general elections.
