Akwa Ibom Govt Urges Monarchs to Mobilize Voters for 2027 Elections

Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mkpisong Frank Archibong, has urged traditional rulers in the state to lead the mobilization of subjects for the ongoing voter registration exercise ahead of the 2027 general elections. Archibong emphasized that poor participation could undermine democratic representation.

He made this call during a visit to the Akwa Ibom State Traditional Rulers Council in Uyo, stressing the importance of traditional rulers in promoting civic responsibility and ensuring a truly representative democracy. The commissioner commended the traditional rulers for their consistent support and highlighted the crucial role they play in the state's peace and stability.
