Wike Claims Amaechi, Mark Can't Win for ADC in 2027

Nyesom Wike, the former governor of Rivers State, declared that Rotimi Amaechi and David Mark cannot win Rivers and Benue states for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the upcoming 2027 general elections. Wike made these remarks while addressing journalists, questioning the political strength of both figures.

He argued that Amaechi's influence has not translated into electoral success, referencing the 2015 and 2019 elections where the All Progressives Congress (APC) failed to secure victories in Rivers State despite Amaechi's national prominence. Wike emphasized that the outcome of elections in Rivers is determined by the people, not by federal influence or prominent names.

He also expressed skepticism about David Mark's ability to lead ADC to victory in Benue State, citing past electoral results where Mark's party affiliations did not yield success. Wike urged opposition parties to focus on building strong grassroots structures rather than relying on prominent individuals.
