Amaechi Submits Nomination for 2027 Presidential Race

Rotimi Amaechi, who previously served as the Minister of Transport and was the Governor of Rivers State, officially submitted his presidential nomination form to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) on Thursday at the party's secretariat in Abuja. This submission marks his intention to contest in the upcoming 2027 presidential election.

Amaechi's candidacy comes in the wake of his previous attempt to secure the presidency in 2023, where he ran on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) but lost the primary to Bola Tinubu. The political landscape for the 2027 elections is expected to be competitive, with notable figures such as former presidential candidates Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso also in the fray, having left the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) amid internal political disputes and court cases.
