Anglican Church Urges INEC to Curb Premature Campaigns for 2027 Elections

The Anglican Church in Nigeria, through its women's wing, has called on the new INEC chairman, Prof. Joash Ojo Amupitan, to warn politicians against premature campaigning for the 2027 elections.

The church highlighted the need for politicians to address governance and security challenges instead of engaging in early electioneering. Angela Eberechukwu Ndukuba, the President of the Mother's Union Women's Guild, raised concerns about gender-based violence affecting women in farming communities, urging government intervention.

Additionally, the church emphasized the importance of infrastructure development, particularly in addressing road connectivity issues in IDP camps and rural areas.
