NDC Attempts to Woo Kwankwaso from ADC Ahead of 2027

The Nigerian Democrat Congress (NDC) has reportedly met with former presidential candidate Rabi'u Kwankwaso in a closed-door meeting aimed at persuading him to defect from the African Democrat Congress (ADC). The meeting involved NDC's Deputy Chairman Muhammad Rabiu Sabo and the party's National Public Secretary Ibrahim Ahmad Waya.

During this visit, the NDC leaders urged Kwankwaso not to remain with the ADC, citing ongoing leadership challenges within the party. They assured Kwankwaso that the NDC is ready to accommodate his support and offered him significant positions within the party.

This engagement comes as political consultations and realignments are ongoing in preparation for the 2027 elections, highlighting the strategic moves by political parties in Nigeria amidst internal crises.
