ADC Welcomes Kwankwaso, Urges Opposition Unity for Democracy

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) formally received former Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso, marking a significant moment for Nigeria's democracy. The event took place at a grand ceremony held at Miller Road, attended by prominent ADC members.

David Mark, the ADC chairman, described Kwankwaso's entry into the party as a deliberate move to unite opposition leaders and strengthen democratic participation in the country. Mark criticized the ruling Progressives Congress, alleging that its actions threaten the multiparty democracy and warned against attempts to weaken opposition voices in favor of concentrating power.

He emphasized that Nigeria's future cannot be built on dominance but rather on participatory leadership that earns public trust. Mark further described the ADC as a rallying point for a new national movement focused on inclusive governance.

He invited political parties, civil society organizations, and youth groups to form a broad coalition to strengthen democracy and improve governance, highlighting the need for unity to address national challenges.
