Kwankwaso Set to Join ADC from NNPP in Kano

Rabiu Kwankwaso, the former governor of Kano State, is anticipated to officially join the African Democratic Congress (ADC) after previously obtaining a membership card. Sources within the party leadership disclosed that Kwankwaso is expected to register as a member in his hometown, Madobi Local Government Area, Kano State.

This move follows his candidacy for the presidency under the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in the 2023 elections. Recent visits by ADC leaders to Kano have intensified speculation regarding his potential defection from the NNPP.

Additionally, Kwankwaso has held meetings with notable figures such as Labour Party's Peter Obi and Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, amid ongoing reports of political realignment. The ADC's leadership received a report from its constitutional review committee, which was presented by national legal adviser Oserheimen Osunbor and emphasized the need for internal democracy and transparency within the party.
