APC Backs Solomon Adeola for Ogun Governorship 2027

Tolu Bankole, a member of the National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the party's National Leader for Persons with Disabilities, has confirmed Senator Solomon Adeola, known as Yayi, as the APC's governorship candidate for the 2027 Ogun State election. Bankole issued this statement in Abuja on Thursday, countering misinformation about Adeola's candidacy.

This clarification follows the APC's reaffirmation of Adeola's candidacy amid a court challenge to the party's primary and claims from another member, Abayomi Hunye. Bankole emphasized that Adeola's nomination was conducted in accordance with the Constitution, the Electoral Act, and the party's constitution.

He praised Adeola's qualifications, legislative experience, and commitment to governance. Bankole urged APC members and Ogun State residents to disregard what he termed fake news and focus on party unity and preparations for the upcoming election.

The APC also described Hunye as an impostor, noting his suspension from the party on April 7, 2026.
