APC Governors Clash with Wike Over Tinubu's Campaign

As the 2027 general election approaches, governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, are in conflict. The APC governors, under the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) and led by Chairman Hope Uzodimma, declared their refusal to support any political arrangements that could undermine President Bola Tinubu's re-election or weaken the party.

This declaration followed a closed-door meeting at the Imo State Governor’s Lodge in Abuja. Uzodimma emphasized that the forum's primary focus is to support official APC candidates rather than external interests.

This stance is perceived as a direct response to Wike's Rainbow Coalition, which he claims is mobilizing support for Tinubu's re-election. Wike countered the governors' remarks, stating that only President Tinubu has the authority to question his political decisions and clarified that his support is exclusively for Tinubu's presidential bid, not for APC candidates in other elections.
