Wike Accuses APC Governors of Sabotage Ahead of 2027

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, accused some governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC), specifically AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State and Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, of working against him in the lead-up to the 2027 general elections. During a media chat in Port Harcourt on Wednesday, Wike expressed his unwavering support for President Bola Tinubu while criticizing the APC governors for prioritizing appearances over substantive political work.

He claimed that AbdulRazaq was leading a campaign against him, alleging that he was sponsoring political candidates in Kwara State. Wike noted that the removal of three senators and a House of Representatives member from the APC had created a dilemma for AbdulRazaq, as these lawmakers might defect to other parties.

He emphasized that politicians who join opposition parties could work against President Tinubu, while those who align with him would support the President. Wike also dismissed claims of planting PDP candidates in various states and stated that some APC governors had approached him to prevent the PDP from fielding candidates.
