APC Confirms Candidate Participation Despite Opposition Boycott

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared its intention to field candidates in the upcoming 2027 general elections, regardless of any potential boycott threats from opposition parties. APC spokesman Felix Morka made this statement during a political program on Channel Television, responding to growing calls from opposition figures urging their parties to withdraw from the elections in protest against perceived unfair practices by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Morka criticized the opposition, particularly the African Democratic Congress (ADC), for attempting to manipulate emotions and blackmail the electoral process. He asserted that the APC would fully exercise its constitutional rights and would not withdraw from the elections.

Opposition parties, including factions of the PDP led by Taminu Turaki and Omoyele Sowore's African Action Congress, are reportedly considering a boycott to avoid legitimizing what they describe as a compromised electoral process. Morka challenged these parties to demonstrate their viability in the elections rather than resorting to boycotts.
