Adelabu to Run for Oyo Governor in 2027 Elections

Adebayo Adelabu, the immediate past Minister of Power, declared his intention to run for governor of Oyo State on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 gubernatorial elections. He made this announcement available to the Daily Post on Saturday.

Adelabu expressed his desire to build a better Oyo State and emphasized his commitment to reclaiming power from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He stated that his campaign would formally begin on Tuesday in Ibadan, the state capital, marking the start of a renewed political journey aimed at returning to the gubernatorial seat.

Adelabu, who was the APC gubernatorial candidate in the 2019 elections, lost to the current governor, Seyi Makinde, and is expected to finish his second term in office in 2027.
