Alao Advocates for Progressive Candidate in Oyo 2027 Race

Hakeem Alao, an aspirant for the 2027 Oyo governorship election, stated that the All Progressives Congress (APC) requires a progressive-minded candidate to win the upcoming elections. He made this declaration on Wednesday at the Teacher Resource Center in Samanda, Ibadan.

Alao highlighted the importance of selecting the right candidates to benefit Oyo State, which he described as a "pace setter" and a "home of democracy." He referenced President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's leadership style, advocating for a focus on building bridges rather than breaking them. Alao urged party members not to sacrifice the future for present sentiments and emphasized the need for a candidate who understands governance beyond mere politics.

He called for a return to the party's foundational values to ensure that the right candidate emerges for the governorship race, stressing that the primary elections should reflect the party's commitment to progress.
