Seyi Makinde Launches APM's 'Reset Nigeria' Agenda

The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) initiated its zonal town hall meetings on September 22 in Katsina, North-West Nigeria, as part of its campaign for the 2027 general elections. The meeting gathered APM stakeholders and candidates, where the party's presidential candidate, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo, presented the "Reset Nigeria" agenda.

This agenda aims to address critical national issues, emphasizing economic development, education, and security. Makinde stated that the campaign would be issue-based and citizen-driven, focusing on national stability and the well-being of Nigerians.

He outlined four major pillars of the agenda, including economic reset through entrepreneurship and skills development, educational reforms to track school-age and out-of-school children, and a review of the country's security architecture. Additionally, Makinde criticized the failure of political office holders to transfer power to their deputies during absences, specifically referencing President Bola Tinubu's current vacation abroad, pledging to adhere to constitutional requirements if elected.
